| Last night, I went to Sabah's Society Talk. It was about Mercy Malaysia organization in Sabah and the Salt Trail. Mercy Malaysia Organization is a medical relief society that provide the medical and dental help to the people in need. In Sabah, a few doctors, dentists, nurses, and volunteer started a Salt Trail expedition where they started jungle trekking for 4-5 days. They have crossed 8 rivers. They gave medical and dentistry help from one village to another village around the Crocker Range. These people live in the hidden paradise within the Crocker Range, yet they don't have sufficient medical and dentist around the village. Most of the cases were treated was malnutrition, worm infestation, skin diseases, upper respitory tract infection...etc.
When I just came back from Canada. I felt the rapid development in Kota Kinabalu where new buildings, shopping malls and roads are built in the city. Cars infesting every inch of the roads. Food are available within few metres from your house. Yet these villagers still suffering malnutritions, worms infestation..etc.
We should appreciate what we have now. But if we have time, money or energy, we should help these villagers who live in the remote area. We can donate some money or even volunteer ourselves to the organization. Help whatever we can. Last night, I have a better plan beside feeling depress on job hunting. I am planning to volunteer to their Salt Trail expedition. But before that, I need to train myself to be fit.
